Wilfret Johnson, CPR Chair
Bishop Johnson is Pastor of The Oakville
Missionary Baptist Church, Chief Executive Officer of Churches Helping Churches,
a Katrina interfaith relief coalition. In these positions, he is not only responsible
for serving as a spiritual leader and teacher, but he is also involved with
assisting Pastors and Churches by serving as a clearinghouse for information
relevant to rebuilding the lives of their members as well as the rebuilding
of the damaged Houses of God. Bishop Johnson has a BA in Political Science
from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA., the MDiv, MTh, and DDiv from
Union Baptist Theological Seminary of New Orleans. Bishop Johnson is a resident
of the west bank of Plaquemines Parish.
Anne Dalferes, CPR Vice Chair
Ms. Dalferes is Executive Director
of the Plaquemines Community Care Center Foundation, a multi-agency coordination
center for public-private partnership housing government and non-profit agencies
providing criminal justice, mental health, disaster recovery and social services
in Plaquemines Parish. She has a BA from Southeastern Louisiana University
and a JD from Loyola University School of Law, with 25 years of experience
as an attorney for district and circuit courts and the state Attorney General. Ms.
Dalferes serves on numerous community boards, committees, and task forces. She
is currently pursuing a MA in Disaster Management from Tulane University.
Steve Zimmer, CPR Secretary
Mr. Zimmer is Vice President for
Community Mobilization for the United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area. In
this position he is responsible for the oversight of the organization's "safety
net" strategic initiative that deals with the emergency needs of people. In
addition, his responsibilities include disaster preparedness and response,
and thus he coordinates and provides administrative support to the long-term
recovery effort in the region. Mr. Zimmer has a BA in Philosophy/History
from Oklahoma Baptist University, MS in Community Development from
the University of Louisville, and over 100 additional graduate hours from the
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sherah Alaimo, CPR Treasurer
Paul Springer, Executive Committee Member-at-Large
Mr. Springer has been employed 21
years by Plaquemines Parish School Board as a Central Office Administrator
- Safe and Drug-Free Schools as well as Crisis Planning, Chairman of the Plaquemines
Parish Prevention Partnership, addressing the social needs of Plaquemines Parish
residents for the past 13 years. Mr. Springer has served on numerous
boards and committees at the local, parish and state levels that address the
social and educational needs of youth, including the Louisiana State Dept.
of Education's Advisory Committee on Safe and Drug-Free Schools. He has
served on the Committee for Plaquemines' Recovery since Hurricane
Katrina. Mr. Springer has an M.A. from the University
of Dayton in Theology, an M.Divinity from St. Leonard College, Centerville,
Ohio and extensive graduate credit in Education courses. He is a
Licensed Prevention Professional in the state of Louisiana.
Mr. Springer is a resident of the west bank of Plaquemines Parish.
Jesse Morris, Executive Committee Member-at-Large
Pastor Morris represents the Ministries
for Plaquemines Recovery (MPR), a faith-based initiative of churches and other
ministries working in lower Plaquemines to assist in the rebuilding effort. He
serves as Pastor of Faith Temple in Buras, LA. Pastor Morris is a life-long
resident of Plaquemines Parish with multi-generational Native American ancestry
in the parish.
Angela Howard, Executive Committee Member-at-Large
Ms. Howard is a Katrina
Aid Today Case Manager assigned by her employer, the Archdiocese of Louisville’s
Catholic Charities, to work client cases in Plaquemines Parish. Ms. Howard
is a resident of the east bank of Plaquemines Parish.
